Skiing in Central Oregon:

The Cascade Mountain range, which lies west of Central Oregon is famous for dry, powdery snow, and lots of it!  Mt. Bachelor lies 18 miles from Bend, and is readily accessible both from Bend and from Sunriver.  It offers miles of nordic trails as well as a large ski resort for downhill skiing and snowboarding.  Hoodoo ski area lies 25 miles from Sisters, and also offers both downhill and nordic skiing.  Willamette Pass Ski Area is southwest of Bend on Highway 58. 

If you prefer other winter recreation, try the tubing hill at Mt Bachelor, strap on the snowshoes and experience one of the myriad National Forest Trails, or rent a snowmobile and go for a spin.  It's all right at your fingertips in beautiful Central Oregon!
